How to start with a local AI writing editor for research

1. Confirm it’s the right fit
Book a free 15-minute discovery call. We’ll ask about your writing (thesis, papers, grants, long-form content), your machine, and whether local AI is what you actually need — versus a cloud chatbot. No hard sell. Pick a time.
2. Know what “local AI” expects
On-device models need disk space and a capable laptop (especially for larger models). First setup can take longer than installing a lightweight word processor. 3. Install and open your project
After qualification you’ll receive install instructions for your platform. Create or open a manuscript project, import or draft chapters, and keep sources in the project where citations live.
4. Use review-before-apply from day one
Treat AI as a proposal engine: accept or reject every suggestion. That habit protects authorship and keeps your argument yours — see review edits before you apply.
